Dimitri.A, also known as Sonik, has been exploring diverse surfaces for his art since 1996. Engaged in wild graffiti, he delves into various disciplines related to the practice, including typography, urban exploration, architecture, rock climbing, and photography. His adventurous spirit drives him to spaces rich in character, such as chaotic peri-urban landscapes, with a particular focus on the Balkans, reflecting his roots.

Sonik’s work examines the concept of the “Western dream” and the rise of new cultural phenomena that reshape traditions, visual landscapes, and fashion. Drawing from suburban, industrial, popular, and folkloric aesthetics, he crafts a distinctive visual language to critique emerging economic models, their contradictions, and their allure. His art encapsulates the tension between modernity and tradition, using vibrant, layered references to tell stories of transformation and aspiration.
