Aria Kiani: “When I was thinking about titles for this piece, that name encapsulated the feeling of what lies beneath. The emotions at the core of every human.

I wanted to represent what’s underneath every human, so the skull felt like the natural choice. Once I learned how to make the skill the way I pictured it, the image in my mind developed to think of x-ray and infra-red imaging, so I used the colour to go deeper into the surface to reveal what lies beneath.”
