About Keelin Rose

Keelin Rose is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice investigates the transformative potential of objects through processes of collection, organisation, and placement. Drawing inspiration from cartography and mark-making, Keelin responds intuitively to the inherent parameters of materials, uncovering new languages within them.

Her work challenges traditional perceptions of objecthood by reassigning roles and orchestrating unions between disparate materials, creating malleable forms that transcend their original purposes.

Through sculpture, painting, and installation, Keelin uses her body as an active tool in the making process, allowing tactile and physical responses to guide her exploration. This embodied approach fosters dynamic conversations across mediums, resulting in a rich and evolving body of work. Central to her practice is the belief that altering an object’s role reveals new information and shifts how it is perceived, rendering it visible in fresh and unexpected ways.

Keelin’s art prioritises material intervention as a primary mode of expression, emphasising transformation over explicit narrative. Her commitment to reimagining materials and exploring their possibilities situates her practice within the broader discourse of contemporary sculpture, contributing a distinctive perspective to the field.
