Matthieu Livrieri

Oil painting, 50 x 60 cm.

This vibrant oil painting brings energy to an eclectic still life, with bold brushstrokes and a rich interplay of warm and cool tones. Everyday objects—like a modern lamp, potted plant, and paisley cloth—are rendered with charm and texture, transforming the ordinary into a striking, contemporary composition.

About Matthieu Livrieri

Matthieu Livrieri in his studio, 2023.

Born 1999, Grenoble, France. Lives and works between Brussels and Marseille.

Matthieu Livrieri is a French painter and draftsman whose vibrant, expressive works capture the emotional resonance of everyday life. Through a distinctive blend of drawing and oil painting, Livrieri constructs stylized, fragmented perspectives that immerse viewers in scenes imbued with both intimacy and melancholy. His art reflects a commitment to portraying unfiltered moments, transforming ordinary settings into chromatic spectacles that explore the nuances of solitude and human experience.

Artistic Practice
Livrieri’s work is characterized by its exploration of distorted spaces, achieved through a dynamic interplay of color and line. His paintings often depict domestic interiors and urban landscapes, rendered with a vivid palette that evokes a dreamlike quality. By integrating elements of his drawing practice, Livrieri creates compositions that challenge perceptions and invite viewers into a dialogue between reality and imagination. His approach reflects a belief that life itself is art, with each piece serving as a testimony to personal and collective experiences.
